The LUT isn't a scam - it's real and it's useful, especially to people who don't like grading flat BM4K-styled footage and are instead just trying to build a foundation for a preset. To me, the improvement doesn't justify the $17, especially when the studdmufin BM4K LUT is free. I found that the BM4K LUT was the quickest to give me an image I liked, followed by Leeming, followed (closely) by stock CineD. The Canon m200 is on the opposite end of the spectrum, while it’s easy to use, canon limited their M line of cameras drastically so they wouldn’t compete with their mid range DSLMs. In the end then, the true test is how FAST can I make a grade that I like from Leeming versus other methods. Sonys menus are very unintuitive and hard to navigate, even for experienced shooters. So comparing the colored results isn't terribly informative either as it's more indicative of the colorist's abilities, 1 point 0 comments 0 comments 7 Posted by u/brianmat42 10 days ago G7 settings for Zoom/Teams I just picked up a G7 to replace my Logitech c920. A good colorist can simple match the shots and walk away though, LUT or not. It has to be colored to see what it's worth (like in the test you shared). Since Leeming is meant as a baseline LUT, its direct output isn't really valuable. And for the Leeming LUTs, it should be used with BT.2020, that is also the standard for HDR. HLG is basically the same as HLG3 but with less saturation. Here are before and after shots showing what the LUT will do: Ungraded. 1 I think that for the Leeming LUTs, HLG (without number) should be the profile used. This LUT will still work with a number of different Cine-D settings, however it is optimized for the settings listed above. Sure thing - It's tricky because the whole workflow is somewhat subjective. As mentioned above, the LUT is based off of my custom Cine-D settings: Cine-D. Check out this thread stuffed with people who love the LUT: I know plenty of people like it, which is cool, but this thing is definitely not for me and no one wants to read a page and a half of me complaining about a LUT.ĮDIT AGAIN: Don't make a decision based only on my opinion. Let me know what else you're curious about!ĮDIT: Yeah, nevermind. I'm gonna shoot some skintones-driven interview-style stuff (most important, IMHO), some low-light (because the author claims to have done some noise-reduction magic with the LUT), some tricky high-dynamic-range scenes, then I'll post some originals, some LUTted, and some graded stills as well as some video so we can observe how the noise patterns change. I'm gonna shoot some tests this weekend and put together a writeup for you guys - what would you like to see tested? Just bought the Leeming LUT to see what all the fuss is about.
